SAT & ACT Test Prep

The right amount of preparation for the student in front of me.

Some students need months of comprehensive preparation. Others are already within striking distance of their goal and need an expert to figure out why those last 50 points aren't moving.I don't believe every student should be put through the same test-prep program. We'll identify what's standing between your student and their goal, then choose the level of support that makes sense.

Ways we can work together

Start with the eduCATE Diagnostic

Before deciding how much test prep a student needs, let's figure out what they actually need help with.

The eduCATE Diagnostic is designed to uncover not only gaps in content knowledge, but why a student is losing points—including reading burden, complex wording, timing, multi-step reasoning, and vulnerability to common test-writing traps.

The process combines a specially designed diagnostic test with a one-on-one student interview and a detailed analysis of the results. The outcome is a clear, individualized path forward—whether that ultimately involves tutoring with me or not.

Targeted Test Prep

1–4 sessions

For the student who doesn't need a whole test-prep program—they need the right intervention.

This option is ideal for students who have a specific problem to solve: a stubborn score plateau, difficulty with one section or question type, timing problems, an upcoming test date, or uncertainty about what is holding their score back.

We'll identify the highest-impact problem and use our time intensively to address it.

Best for: targeted score improvement, troubleshooting, last-mile preparation, and students with limited time.

Comprehensive Test Prep

10–20 sessions

For the student who wants systematic, individualized preparation for the SAT or ACT.

This is a complete preparation program built around the individual student rather than a predetermined curriculum. We'll address content gaps, test-specific strategies, timing, reading and reasoning demands, recurring error patterns, and practice-test performance.

As the student's scores change, the plan changes with them. Time is continually redirected toward the areas most likely to produce further improvement.

Best for: first-time test takers, students preparing well in advance, significant score goals, or students who need support across multiple sections.

Focused Test Prep

5–8 sessions

For the student who needs meaningful preparation in several areas without starting from scratch.

We'll use diagnostic information and practice-test performance to identify where the greatest opportunities for improvement lie, then build a focused plan around those areas.

Sessions may combine content instruction, test strategy, timing, question analysis, and targeted practice depending on the student's needs.

Best for: students with a solid foundation who have several identifiable areas for improvement.

Ongoing Test Prep

Flexible

For students whose goals don't fit neatly into a package.

Some students benefit from longer-term support—particularly those beginning early, pursuing highly competitive scores, taking multiple test administrations, or combining SAT/ACT preparation with academic tutoring.

We'll establish a regular schedule and continually adjust our work based on the student's progress and upcoming goals.
